Ipod Introduction and Instructions

Download Songs From an Apple Laptop Computer to an Ipod:

The 21st century has brought forth a whole new line of technology and Macintosh is among the companies who have made some new advancements. Among these advancements is the ipod. Ipods are an upgrade from the diskman. It allows the user to download music and play the music without any skipping. This new from of technology is great for those who like to listen to music while exercising, working, riding bikes etc. There are many ways to transport your favorite music onto your ipod and here I will give a full description of how an ipod user is able to transfer music onto their ipod using their Macintosh laptop.

You will need:
1) Apple laptop computer

3) Cord attacing Ipod to laptop computer (should come with your computer)

Directions:

1) on your laptop open iTunes (it will be located in your toolbar at the bottom of your screen)

2) choose the songs that you wish to import to your ipod
a)if your songs are on cd than put the cd into your laptop and when the cd shows up in the menu to the left (this is all within iTunes) click on the cd so that the list of songs are displayed on the main screen.
b)if you have already downloaded songs onto your computer simply open your music library in the left hand side menu.

3) now connect your ipod to your computer with the cord, connecting the cord to the bottom of your ipod and on the left hand side of your laptop.

4) you will see that the symbol indicating that your ipod is connected to your computer has now appeared in the menu on the left hand side of the screen (the same area where you music library and cd icons are located)

5) you will now transfer the music from your computer to your ipod by clicking on the song you would like to transfer and dragging the title of the song over to your ipod icon. You will see that when you hold the title over the ipod icon a green + circle will appear. When this occurs let go of the mouse button and you have now successfully transfered the song from your laptop to your ipod.
NOTE: If you wish to transfer more than one song, simply highlight all of the songs that you wish to transfer and drag the entire highlighted area over to the ipod icon.

6) eject your ipod from your computer before disconnecting the cord to ensure that none of the songs that you have transfered will be removed. You do this by clicking the ^ symbol that is located just to the right of your ipod icon which is still lacated in the left hand menu of your iTunes program.

    Hi. When I drag the title name to the i-pod icon nothing happens. It does not show the plus sign or a green circle. Do you know what’s wrong?
