My dreams for the future include:

1)Becoming a high school Social Studies teacher
2)Owning a boutique
3) Becoming a make-up artist
4) Becoming a professional photographer
5) talk show host

Of these dreams the one that speaks to my ambitions the most is becoming a high school Social Studies teacher. In my current circumstances I have both areas of strength as well as areas in which I could improve in order to ensure my success in making this dream happen.

My ambition and passion to enter into this career is one of my strongest attributes, with this it not only forces me to put more effort and care into my work, but it also puts the drive into me to make sure and achieve the areas that are barriers. In the past I have been apart of the education, coaching volleyball summer camps as well as the freshman volleyball team for Willsonville High School. I have also spent 180 hours observing both high schoo and middle school teachers and in this time I have had the oppurtunity to teach lesson plans and understand classroom management; and this past year I volunteered with the S.M.A.R.T. (start making a reader today) program. This program provided me with the ability to read with students who tend to struggle with reading, and also understand the difference between managing secondary education students as opposed to primary, as the two boys that I read with were in 1st and 3rd grade. In all cases I was able to establish a relationship with my students and learn the balance of friend and teacher.

The largest barrier that I face in becoming a Social Studies teacher is a Masters in the Arts of Teaching. This year I will graduate with a Bachelors degree in History, and I now need to take the Praxis I, II, and III tests along with the CBEST test in order to get into graduate school. After those are taken I need to apply and get into a graduate school. George Fox University is the school that I would dream of going to for my graduate study. After I got in to George Fox I would need to accomplish graduated school with a minimum of a 3.0 to graduate so that I will be certified to teach in the public school systems.
