Music
Inspiration:
Growing I loved everything that had to do with music. I would sing to my Grandma on roadtrips, I played the piano, and I was a dancer. Being a dancer you are forced to focus on the rythm of a song. Today I have many friends who are musicians. I often go to shows and listen to them play and that alone inspires me. Recently I bought a new laptop and on it is a program called GarageBand. Therefore I figured with this project I could use something I love, music, and incorporate it into a program I would like to become familiar with. It inspiration to be able to play around with different sounds and make a final product that sounds good to the ear.
Process and Tools:
In order to creat my beat I had to use GarageBand, a program on my Macintosh, as I previously stated. Once you open the program you first click on "create a new project." From here a window will appear that provides the layout for your song. Next, on the bottom left hand side of the window there is a group of four keys and I clicked on the third key in entitled "Loop Browser." This opens a group of musical instruments that have already been recorded onto your computer. From here you can choose which instrument you would like to use and click and drag it into your play list. After you have done this you can play around on your main page moving the music you have chosen from left to right on so that the instrument that you would like to hear plays at the time you would like. This is the fun part! This is where you get to move the music around so that it is fun to listen to, and when you get a beat you like you can repeat it and at the end you have produced a piece of music that is unique and your own!

For the Future:
In the future I plan on becoming a high school teacher and I think that using GarageBand along with a slideshow would be a great way to make my presentations more interesting for the class. I would also use GarageBand as a chance to be creative and make acoustical beats that are relaxing. I really enjoy getting ready or reading or studying to acoustics and with GarageBand I can make up my own beats that fit my mood!
